I do not understand this Halloween holiday. I have seen it spoken to as a harvest festival, and while the Harvest is a wonderful thing to celebrate... I do not approve of these childish notions that I have seen.

Honoring the Gods is the proper thing to do; it pleases us. Someone explain this trick-or-treat.

Well, in my world, (I won't presume to know about all of them), corporations have taken over the world, and what they really want is money. They make money by selling huge amounts of candy, which kids spend an entire night walking from house to house to collect. And then they spend the next whole year trying to eat all of it, assuming they don't eat it all in one night and make themselves sick. Kind of fantastic, isn't it?

It's hard to argue with. The sad part is that when you grow up, people don't expect you to trick or treat anymore. Sometime around the beginning of high school, it starts to be weird.

Dress up as something. You may not be frightening away spirits but it's quite fun to pretend you're someone else.
