[Persephone is kneeling among the flowers in her room. In the center of the mound, there is a hint of yellow plastic, and as Persephone talks, she's burying it. What she's burying? A Spongebob Squarepants doll. They're evilllllll you know.]

I do not understand how things work here. There is no equality, no fairness and no justice. When one person does something, they become an outcast, they become hated and they are reviled. When another does it, they face no consequences. I suppose it is a very human way to behave.

It is funny; I did not expect to like being a human so much. The little ones were better than the grown ones. Tell me stories of your childhoods, mortals. I would be interested in hearing them.

[Private to Coyo]

Are you well?

[Persephone stroked Coyolxauhqui's hair slowly when her friend spoke. She did not know the Doctor; he wasn't a sort of person whom she would have sought out. He'd been involved with someone when she'd arrived, and for all her own unfaithfulness, Persephone didn't seek it out in others.] That is good to hear. I... you were gone for such a long time.

I am alright. He kept me locked there for a week and then I was released. He also gave me my green thumb so that I may have my plants.

[Persephone gestured to the plants in her room which grew despite the lack of sunlight. She kept alive through her magic alone.]

I did not hear of you in port. Were you there?

[Coyolxauhqui did a little thing with her foot to shut the door, reaching back with her leg to give the open door a kick without having to leave the comfort of her friend's embrace.

At mention of Persephone's powers, Coyolxauhqui sighed. She only had her magic for a few days, and even then it had only been the ability to speak to her fellow gods.]

I am happy that you have your plants still. [She knew that Persephone would be miserable without them, and had worried for her when she found out which version of the Doctor was to be her guide. She wasn't too keen on that version, but at least he had returned her abilities.

Coyolxauhqui finally pulled away from her friend, sighing bitterly.] Yes. I was a nanny for two children.

I am happy for it as well, though I expect he has done it because the plants aboard would hunger for me as I hunger for them. I had bestowed upon them enough to keep blooming for a very long time, but they missed me.

[She frowned quickly at that, and then she looked as the door was shut behind them. Persephone wasn't worried about them being seen; her alliances were now well known throughout the Barge. Her fingers brushed Coyolxauhqui's hair when her friend pulled back and away.]

I was a child, I have never been that before. Have you been a child, Coyolxauhqui?

[Coyolxauhqui semi-understood Persephone's bond with her plants. It wasn't the same thing as Coyolxauhqui and the stars, but it was very close, and she could understand being apart of nature well enough. It was a cruel punishment to have that bond taken away.]

A child? Not here, no. When I was young, yes. [She wasn't born fully-grown like her brother, Coyolxauhqui actually experienced a childhood. Then again, the childhood of a god or goddess was something a little different than their mortal counterparts.

Coyolxauhqui smiled,] You must have been a very sweet child.

I was not a child when I was young. I was a maid but never a child. [Persephone frowned a bit at that, and she looked to her hands for a moment. How much younger they had seemed before she had spent her time in hell.

No one in her family were children, but somehow all of the children that they had with mortals did thing in that normal way. A part of her wondered how the demigods had faired on their quest in her world.

It would be a very long time before she knew for certain if the son of Hermes had been truly bested.]

I was a terror. I am simply glad that Neil Howie was a better parent than he was a mortal.

[There was no real animosity in her tone; she trusted him now. Well, a bit.]

I do not like the world, though. There was an evil thing there I wish to destroy.

[Neil Howie? Well that put a surprised looked on the divinity's face. She hadn't been paying all too much attention during the port, but now she realized she probably should have. Persephone as a little girl, and Neil Howie as some kind of parental figure...

Eventually the thought just put a smile on her face. It was really, really amusing.

She would have asked more about Neil Howie and the port, but then she mentioned something evil. Coyolxauhqui took a slight step back and cocked her head to one side.]

An evil thing?

It is an evil thing. It is a sponge that lives in a pineapple below the sea. It is... a terror.

[Persephone shivered a bit, and then she gestured toward a thicket of plants that were growing tightly over something. She was having it contained there.]

The plants will hold it so that it will not be able to escape. I do not ever want it to escape.

[Coyolxauhqui peered towards where Persephone pointed out of curiosity, stepping away from the other goddess to take a few hesitant steps towards the plants. A sponge that lives in a pineapple below the sea.

It barely made any sense to Coyolxauhqui, but she assumed Persephone would not be frightened without good reason.]

If it escapes, tell me. [She reached out to give her friend a reassuring touch on the arm.] I will destroy it for you.
