[Persephone is kneeling in front of a large pile of dirt, and there is a smear of it on her face. A handful of plants are growing in front of her, literally glowing and blooming as you watch. Persephone looks rather happy and contended.]

Who is in charge of the Gardens? Armand St. Just, I understand it is you. I am looking for pots.

I would also like to help with the seeding. I have a knack for it.

My lady Persephone is also available.

Edward Nygma. I neglected to introduce myself during your introductory post. Your presence here was [Pause.] a surprise, to say the very least.

Level two, room six. They're currently on my desk.

Your tongue is silver, Edward. Is the rest of you?

[Appraising look.]

I shall be down shortly.

[So flattered.] In the sense that I exhibit a pleasant grandiloquency, I would say I am. But you're welcome to judge that for yourself when we meet.

[Persephone swept through the hallways with a flourish of the skirt that she was wearing. There was dirt on her hand and a bit smeared over her cheek, and she didn't care about it. The dirt felt quite wonderful, and Persephone was effervescently happy at the moment. Her clothing was still the goth bit that she had worn during her time with her husband, and her grin was wide when she knocked on Edward's door.]

[Upon hearing the knocking, Edward speedily opens the door and invites Persephone in with a flourished arm, spreading it out towards his room.] Ah, my lady Persephone. Come in, come in. And forgive the mess--

[His room is actually surprisingly spartan (for someone like him), with but a few scattered papers sitting on his desk and a few more stacked together on his coffee table. There are a few items here and there that give indications of his eccentricity, too. Such as the considerably large collection of dice he has sitting near a lamp on his desk.]

[She does like the title of 'My Lady Persephone' as well. It has been far too long since she had heard it uttered in her direction, and it pleased her to be reminded of a time when mortals addressed their prayers to her in an actual manner. For far too long now, she had just been held to the false standard of the myth... but not for much longer.

When he mentioned the mess, she looked around, finding it rather neat indeed. It was currently far more clean that her room was, what with the dirt scattered around it. Heading towards the desk where he had mentioned his plant to be, Persephone got distracted by the dice on his desk. Given that she had no sense of personal boundaries, she picked a die up and held it between her fingers, rolling it a bit.]

Are you fond of games of chance?

[Eddie follows no belief system, but he can't deny the allure of Greek Mythology. Persephone being, quite obviously, among the few that he is deeply fascinated with.

While his guest strides deeper into his room, he shuts the door, locking it behind him on instinct. He turns around and approaches her just as she poses the question.]

I'm fond of games in general. [He says as he walks up to the desk, placing his hands discreetly on the back of his work chair.] My preference lies in cerebral based challenges, but I often do find myself participating in games of chance.

[She watched him steadily and calmly when he said that he was fond of games. Many mortals were, and she was wondering how many of like mind she would find aboard this vessel. Perhaps it would be interesting to see. When he mentioned cerebral based challenges, Persephone nodded.] Riddles, chess, that sort of thing?

[The locked door didn't bother her; Persephone can defend herself now, after spending so much time in the company of her husband if he had any ill intentions, but she didn't believe that he did. After all, he had been rather polite and nice and those will ill intentions tend not to do that.

She moved towards his plants, stroking the leaves slowly, soothingly, tracing them from where they met the stem to the tip of the leaf.]

How large would you like them to be?

[Riddles? Visual indications aside, that was quite the intuition she possessed. Had he more stress to spare on things that didn't include Rex or his inmate, he might have worried that she knew more about him that he was comfortable with.] And a little beyond, yes.

[He watched her with a smile as she scrutinized his plants. They were still children, in need of care and nurture that Eddie could just barely provide. His secretary had been the one to take care of his plants, in the past, and as the Riddler, he hadn't stayed in one place long enough to own them for more than a few weeks.]

The average adult size. They're looking rather poor, at the moment.

[Riddles were older than chess, especially for Persephone, so whenever one mentioned brain games, they were the first place that she went. There was no special secret intuition involved; just what she remembered. There was a nod when he said that he went a little beyond that. It didn't matter; whatever he wanted to do was fine with her.

The plants were studied for a moment, and she touched the soil, making the ground moist for them. There was a little bit of an accusation in her eyes when she looked at him, watching him for a moment.] You would do better to care for them; they have feelings and needs as well.

[While still making eye contact with him, the plants stopped looking poor, they grew lush and vibrant green, and they grew to their full adult height, and perhaps a little taller, but the leaves were lovely and perfect as Persephone touched them, and then she leaned over and one brushed her lip, and she spoke to it softly in ancient greek, the speed of the words uttered far too quickly for translation.]

You should water them once a day. Cool water, but not cold.
