[Biff was waiting for her in the greenhouse. He had dirt on his trousers and under his fingernails; his hair hung lank and sweaty about his face. He was getting a bit better at this gardening thing.]
[Persephone had been avoiding the green house for the last week, mostly because she hadn't wanted to have this conversation. It was a conversation that was going to change things, she thought.
Maybe she was just hopeful.
There was a little bit of a smile before she moved over and sat on the ground near him, moving her fingers into the earth.]
I am glad you stayed in your room during that flood too.
[Biff began to speak, but thought better of it. Somewhere in the back of his mind, he had the idea that he shouldn't interrupt her. Instead, he leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees, a sad smile playing on his mouth.]

I was Judas. Thankfully, who I was did not have many friends.
[Change of subject.]
You wanted to talk?

She loved people you know.
Spam
Yes, I know.

[Persephone frowned for a moment.]
I did not expect any of that to happen, I suppose. But I can still feel what she felt.

I hope the Persephone on that Barge, and the Sirius on that Barge did not become destroyed by it. What is the point of love if it destroys so utterly?
[Her voice went soft for a moment, and the goddess frowned.]
I stayed here and helped Coyo because I was a bit in love with her.

Are you afraid love will destroy you?

My husband claims to love me, and yet it has torn him apart.

Some people hate more than they love, you know. It lets in jealousy and fear. The trick is to love more than you hate.
[He raised his brows and sniffed, then scratched the back of his head.]
So what do you think about all of this? You and Sirius and love?

[Persephone frowned.]
I do not feel changed. I feel the same. Caring for the mortals, it did not weaken me.
Re: Spam
Imagine the great things people do for the world just out of love, Persephone. Love isn't a weakness. It's a great strength.
[A beat.]
I think you are changed. For the better, though.

[Persephone frowned as she watched him for a moment, and then she touched the plants a bit more.]

[He said this simply, as though it was an obvious answer. He smiled slightly at her.]
Maybe you'll agree in time.
Spam
Perhaps. I do not think so.
Spam
Well, what do you think?
Spam
I think that she may have been stronger than me.

So what will you do with this knowledge?

I can only guide you so far, Persephone. Sometimes, the last steps must be taken alone.

This means I am done, doesn't it?

[He shrugged and looked around.]
It's not so bad here. People complain, but it's not so bad.
[He smiled at her then, though he looked rather sad about the eyes.]
But if I were you, I'd want to be home before winter.
Spam
The world has spun once, and I have missed summer. I wish to go home.
What will you do, Levi-Biff?
Spam
Oh, you know. I'll go see Maggie. Maybe she misses me. Maybe she doesn't. Maybe she'll smite me in the face.
[He tilted his head back to look up at the roof, then leaned back on his elbows and stretched his legs out in front of him.]
Maybe I'll come back and do this again.

I never asked; what was your deal for?

I did not make a deal, Persephone.

Because I don't think it's right to profit off of the soul of another person.

You are too good to be here, Biff.

Are you making a pass at me?

I promised Victor I would be faithful to Molly while I am with her, anyway.
[A beat.]
Besides, Dracula would kill me, and I've made it this long without dying.

I do not think Coyo or Dracula will be glad for me.
