When I came here, I did not expect to be here long. I thought that it would be easy to simply graduate an inmate and then leave. I did not realize how hard it was to change the ways of mortals, and I did not realize how much worse it would be with people leaving, or being taken.

Then I worried that the Admiral may have been lying, and I stayed after Edgar graduated. I did not expect what happened next, but now I understand why.

I am done here. I am sorry to those who I have hurt, and I hope that you are able to leave here soon.

The gardens should prosper, even in my absence. I have fortified them.

Persephone blinked when the knock on the door was loud, and she moved towards it quickly, pulling it open. When she saw who it was on the other side of the door, Persephone took his hand and pulled him inside with her.

"Is everything alright?" Sirius frowned a bit as he looked at her.

"I have graduated. And it is because of you, Sirius Black." Persephone smiled at him for a moment, and then she leaned over and kissed him quickly.

He just sort of blinked as she kissed him. "You graduated?" He...hadn't been expecting that. His heart dropped down to the vicinity of his toes, but he managed a slight smile. "Blimey. Congratulations."

Her fingers chased over the slight smile, moving against his lips for a long moment. She watched him, and she saw the sadness in his eye. "Do not be sad, Sirius Black. I do not wish it." Despite her lesson in humanity, there were some things that she was still quite divine about.

"You will graduate as well. I am certain of it."

"I'm happy for you, Persephone. Really and truly. I want you to be far away from this bloody ship, far away and happy. I'm just going to miss you." He was going to miss her a whole hell of a lot. More than he'd ever care to admit.

He waved a hand as she said he would graduate. He wasn't quite so sure about that. How did one graduate when one wasn't even sure why one was here? "Don't worry about me. You know if James is involved, I'll bloody well get it sorted."

"I will miss you too, Sirius Black. I will miss you more than you know." She traced her fingers through his hair for a moment, stroking it, her fingers lingering behind his ear with a teasing grin.

"I know you will get it sorted. It will be alright in the end. Will you stay with me tomorrow night? My last night aboard."

His smile widened as she grinned at him. If she was going to miss him more than he knew, that would be enough for him. She was a goddess, she was his friend, and he cared about her a great deal more than he had ever meant to. She shouldn't be on this rust bucket. She should be somewhere dripping with flowers, somewhere where she could be free. Somewhere where the underworld was only a distant memory.

"I would love to stay with you on your last night aboard. It would be an honour." He rested his hands lightly against her waist and kissed her cheek. "Is there anything you need from me between now and then?"

"No. I will simply be saying lots of goodbyes. It will be sad. There are people here whom I care for deeply." Persephone touched his face again, and looked into his eyes--clearly he was one of the people whom Persephone meant.

"Of course. I won't keep you then." As much as he'd like to stay glued to her side until the end, she had other friends she needed to say her goodbyes to. He wasn't so much a prat he couldn't understand that. He rested his fingers lightly over hers as she touched his face, smiling at her as she looked into his eyes.

He could be miserable later, once she was gone.

Persephone smiled at him, and then she kissed him once more. "Til tomorrow night, Sirius Black." A wide grin with a touch of sadness was on her face as she stroked his chin. She wanted him to be happy and graduate.
