pearling: (bb! Persephone)

[Persephone's video comes on in a bathtub that was completely overflowing with water. It's horribly overflowing, like comedy movie overflowing. There's probably several inches of water on the floor. The camera moves and get a shot of toes standing on top of a sink. When she speaks, her voice is soft.]

Why do mortals and their things always leak?

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-01-21 06:04 pm (UTC)(link)
What have you done?!

...bloody hell... Don't move, and turn that tap off. Now.

[identity profile] persephonepearl.livejournal.com 2011-01-21 06:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I can't both turn off the tap and not move!

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-01-21 06:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I mean, turn off the tap and then...

Where's your moth... Abigail?

[identity profile] persephonepearl.livejournal.com 2011-01-21 06:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Downstairs.

[Persephone steps off the toilet seat with a loud splash and a groan before she turns the tap off.]

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-01-21 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay.

[Pause.]

You should go down and tell her what you've done. Carefully open the door and try not to get the carpet too wet.

And we will have words about this when I get home.

[identity profile] persephonepearl.livejournal.com 2011-01-21 06:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Words? What words will we have?

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-01-21 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Serious ones. About why we don't flood bathrooms.

[identity profile] persephonepearl.livejournal.com 2011-01-21 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I did not mean to flood the bathroom!

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-01-21 07:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Then we'll have them about taps, and how to use them without causing massive damage.

[identity profile] persephonepearl.livejournal.com 2011-01-21 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
...The water just should go away.

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-01-21 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
It won't, if the plug's in the plughole.

[Apparently Abigail led a knitting or sewing circle - something like that, and the entire day had been spent talking to strangers on the telephone about the quilts they were making for the poor or something. Gossipy housewives were exhausting, but at least she had figured out the oven and her daughter (boy howdy, was that weird) was taking a bath.

Abigail happened to walk by the stairs and stepped into a puddle of water. She looked at the floor for a very long moment before deciding to follow the small waterfall that was trickling down the stairs. It was only when she reached the landing that she realized the water was coming from the bathroom.

Indoor plumbing. What a hassle.]

What in the hell is goin' on here?

[Persephone had turned off the tap thanks to being instructed to by Howie, but she was once again standing on the top of the toilet. This much water was over her ankles and half-way up her shins while she was this height, and it was no longer pleasantly warm. It had chilled as the goddess had used up all of the hot water, and now it was rather chilled.

When Abigail entered the room, Persephone launched herself toward the woman. She was rather liking how little and compact these embraces with the little people was.]

Everything leaks. Why do mortal things leak?

[Oh, she was not looking forward to cleaning this mess up. Not at all. Opening the door had sent most of the water out into the hallway and down the stairs, and Abby was just a little bewildered when the little girl threw herself at her.

She sloshed her way towards the cabinet and pulled down a few towels, holding Persephone with one arm. They were quickly wrapped around the soaking little girl, one folded around her head like a turban.]

Mortal things leak because they've got a capacity, that's why. You made the tub overflow. Ain't a difficult concept.

[Persephone found she liked being carried. It was a pleasant feeling. She also liked the way in which she'd had the towels wrapped about her.

However, she didn't like the way in which she was being scolded. Persephone knew scolding well enough, and she frowned at that, but she still kept close to Abigail.]

Where I'm from, the water just goes away. Even on the barge my bath worked like that!

Honey, this place ain't magic.

[Abigail peered into the bathtub.] See here? Plug's stopped the drain. [Still holding on to the goddess in little girl form, Abigail rolled up her sleeve and reached into the tub to yank out the stopper. The water finally started to magically drain from the tub, Abby tossing the plug into the sink casually.]

There. Water'll go away now. [She started sloshing across the tiled floor to get them both out of the bathroom.] I bet you're freezin'.

[Persephone sighed quickly when Abigail said that it wasn't magic. She knew that. She didn't have magic anymore, not thanks to her father being an idiot. For a moment she didn't say anything, and just watched as the stopper was pulled.]

Oooooh.

[She had been freezing, and she hadn't realized it. Human body, why did you work in such an odd manner? Goddesses do not approve of freezing or being hot or dirty or needing to use the toilet for conventional things.]

Neil Howie is angry with me.

[Abigail snorted, still tiptoeing through the soggy hallway carpet to get to the child's bedroom.] Neil Howie don't have to clean up this here mess.

[She finally set her down in the threshold, staring her right in the eye.]

Did you learn your lesson? Do you promise not to do it again?

[When they started going towards Jane's bedroom, Persephone tensed up for a moment, and then she went exceptionally loose in that dead way that children have.]

We can't go in there! The sponge thing lives there! It lives there and in a pineapple under the sea.

[And she had flooded the bathroom.]

I promise not to flood things! I promise. Just don't make me go in there!

[Spam] loooool persephone

[identity profile] left-that-life.livejournal.com 2011-01-24 03:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[Ah, right, the sponge thing. Abigail had been warned about that thing; she'd probably need to sneak on in there and throw all those sponge things in the hallway closet. She sighed, as she wasn't going to threaten a scared child, and picked her back up.]

'salright, honey, I believe you. Well...[A glance towards the master bedroom.] Since the damn sponge's taken over your room, we'll go into my room and I'll get you some dry clothes. That alright?
